The Caulfield Consulting Group and its partners have extensive consulting experience as well as direct leadership experience in a variety of industries and at multiple levels of government.

 

Founder and President R. Erich Caulfield has worked in both the public and private sectors. Before founding The Caulfield Consulting Group, Erich served as the New Orleans Team Lead for the Obama White House's Strong Cities, Strong Communities (SC2) Initiative, which was a new partnership between the federal government and several cities across the country. Embedded in the Mayor’s Office in New Orleans, Erich served as the White House's liaison to the Mayor's Office and coordinated an interagency team with representatives from 14 federal agencies that worked closely with the City' leadership on a variety of initiatives.

 

Prior to moving to New Orleans, Erich was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as a White House Fellow, working at the White House Domestic Policy Council and before that, he was the Chief Policy Advisor to former Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker and to the Business Administrator. Before entering government service, he worked in management consulting as an Associate at McKinsey & Company, focusing on process design and public sector-related projects. 

 

Erich is currently serving on the City's Economic Development (New Orleans Business Alliance) Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Board of Trustees. For his work in the City, Erich has been featured on Gambit Magazine's List of 40 Under 40 and given the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute's Award for Outstanding Contribution to Public Policy.

 

Erich received a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, where he served as Graduate Student Body President and the 125th President of the MIT Association of Alumni and Alumnae, and a BS, Phi Beta Kappa with departmental honors, in Physics and Mathematics from Morehouse College.
